This week’s Boston Busking Song of the Week is She’s Long She’s Tall (She Weeps Like a Willow Tree) from Ilana Katz Katz, the second track off of her debut solo album “I’ve Got Something to Tell You”. It features Ronnie Earl on guitar, widely considered to be the greatest living blues guitarist.
Originally composed by blues legend John Lee Hooker, who played an immense influence on Katz Katz to seriously pursue the violin, Katz Katz’s version of She’s Long She’s Tall is the first track off her album that listeners get to hear her singing voice – and what a delight it is. It perfectly matches the twang of her violin and the backing rhythm of Earl’s guitar. Listen to the track below!
Katz Katz is currently in the process of recording her second full-length album which will heavily feature Grammy nominated artist Cedric Watson, with whom she will also be playing a show at Club Passim in Harvard Square on May 11. Tickets are available here.
