Straight Up, the Bridgewater based funk band and occasional Faneuil Hall Marketplace buskers, have announced they will be bringing their funk and reggae infused rock to the Corner at Middle East for a bi-weekly residency. They will play every second and fourth Friday night through May, starting around 10:30 PM.
“We can’t wait to bring the grooves to Cambridge on a regular basis!” stated the band on their Facebook page.
After recently releasing their debut EP titled “Paul’s Gonna Call”, which featured January 5 Song of the Week “Streaker”, these locals have been very busy playing shows across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Hard copies of “Paul’s Gonna Call” will be available at all their upcoming gigs, including the residency at Middle East. Digital download is also available here.
Located at 472-480 Massachusetts Ave. in Central Square, Cambridge, Middle East is known for booking some of the fastest rising stars in a wide range of genres to their larger, downstairs space, while filling the smaller upstairs rooms, including Upstairs, Zuzu and the Corner, with cutting edge local acts.
